Big, bigger, the biggest news: today, at the Trade Fair in Aalsmeer, we are launching our new collection of green houseplants. Our familiar green stars, but a good deal bigger, branched or with multiple cuttings. Think of them as large green pieces of furniture. Ideal for offices, or if you have plenty of space in your home!
THE PLANTS FROM THE XL COLLECTION
Within the XL collection you will find a number of well-known, popular houseplants that are in high demand in many households. The Strelitzia Nicolai, also known as the bird of paradise plant, has for instance been growing in popularity for years. And there is no sign of that stopping any time soon. But the Ficus Lyrata, the Alocasia Zebrina, the Monstera and the Yucca have also become indispensable in Dutch households and offices.
Because plants are taking an increasingly prominent place in our lives, we decided to respond to that. Because what if you let a plant play a leading role in your interior? What if a plant is no longer just a plant, but a fully fledged green piece of furniture? Meet the XL collection: the plants you know from us, but a good deal bigger. Think of a Monstera 130 cm tall, a Yucca Maya tree as much as 160 cm tall, a Strelitzia Nicolai 150 cm tall or an Alocasia Zebrina 120 cm tall.
ABOUT FOREVER PLANTS BY DIVINE
The plants from the XL collection are grown at the Forever Plants by Divine nursery on the Bagijneland in ’s-Gravenzande, a partnership between carnation nursery Nieuwland and Forever Plants. In addition to cultivating a new collection of plants, we see Forever Plants by Divine as a wonderful opportunity to prepare a new generation for the greenhouse horticulture sector.
Forever Plants by Divine is run by Sara Doelman, Jonas Doelman and Jolien van Uffelen. Sara is halfway through her Cultivation and Breeding studies in Delft, Jonas was for years the right-hand man of the manager at carnation nursery Nieuwland. Jolien is the daughter of a cultivation advisor. Moreover, she has completed the Horticulture Management programme. An ambitious team that will be responsible for the operational management of Forever Plants by Divine.

At Forever Plants we place an enormous amount of value on education and innovation. The way we are now collaborating with the young entrepreneurs Sara, Jonas and Jolien fits perfectly within our vision for the future. We encourage entrepreneurship, involve the three of them in running the business and try to innovate in various ways, so as to ensure that we ultimately have an ever more positive impact on both the planet and our colleagues.
