Sustainability as our starting point
At Forever Plants we devote a great deal of attention to sustainability and keep an eye on the balance between People, Planet and Profit. We believe it’s important to do our bit for the well-being of the planet, which is why we are constantly in conversation about how to bring more balance between these 3 P’s. Curious? People
At Forever Plants we strive for the ideal conditions for our plants and our people alike. To ease the physical strain on our colleagues, we work with the Walking Plants System. Yes, our plants ‘walk’ themselves to the shed, where they are prepared for shipping. We don’t just lighten the bending and lifting work; we also offer Dutch lessons to our international employees, for example. On top of that, we love to challenge our colleagues to think along about the whole business. In our Challenge of the Month, the various teams each put forward an improvement every month, which we then tackle all together.
Planet
Forever Plants relies on the most sustainable energy available. Together with 40 other companies, we take part in Trias Westland, a project that drills for geothermal heat. This heat lets us warm our greenhouse in the most sustainable way possible while cutting back on gas. We also do our bit when it comes to recycling and water supply. Our water cycle is now fully closed. Our goal? To work entirely climate-neutral by 2025!
Profit
Every day we do everything we can to improve our working processes. For example, we build dashboards that present useful information for every team in a clear, readable way. For our sales team, think of the available quantities per plant. These dashboards are constantly evolving. Right now we’re working on a system that also factors in our customers’ reservations, so we always have insight into the actual number of plants available.
Continuous improvement
Optimizing our operations around the 3 P’s isn’t something that happens overnight. That’s why we are in constant dialogue about how to set up our processes better, so we can have as much positive impact as possible on the well-being of our colleagues and the planet. We keep a close eye on innovations in the market, but we are also continually innovating ourselves. All so that we can ultimately do our work in the most positive way in every respect!
