Green houseplants are hip and beloved, and they are prominently (and increasingly) present in more and more places. Not only in people’s homes, in the living room, the bedroom or at the home-work station, but we are also seeing more and more plants appear within companies. And that is hardly surprising. A beautiful green piece of furniture gives the interior a warm and inviting touch, while the air-purifying effect of the plant is also playing an increasingly important role.
Collaboration with PostPlants from Pijnacker
As Forever Plants, we are of course only too happy to meet the growing demand for green houseplants. That is why we have started a collaboration with the PostPlants nursery from Pijnacker. For many years now they have been growing Anthurium pot plants. For Henk Post, owner of the nursery, however, after 30 years of Anthurium cultivation it was time for a new challenge. And he has found it: he is going to produce green houseplants! In 2021 the cultivation and sale of Anthuriums will be phased out. Around August 2021 the last Anthuriums will leave the nursery.
As a result, the total production capacity of Forever Plants will be expanded by two hectares, coming to a total of around six hectares. Early this year, production for Forever Plants will start in Pijnacker. From June 2021 we will be able to deliver the first plants. In this way we can offer an even broader assortment to our customers and better meet demand. In addition, we can strengthen our position as a green mix specialist.
The additions to our assortment
But what does this mean in concrete terms? We are going to add 15 new varieties in pot sizes 14 and 17 to our assortment. These new varieties naturally include the stars among green plants such as the Calathea, Alocacia and Philodendron, as well as the Musa and Monstera. An important step for the future of Forever Plants!
